Chip Foose is a legend for a reason: 30 years turning ink and pencil lead into moving art has given him an unmatched eye for detail, with a focus on simplicity and clean styling.
To cap off the celebration, Foose will be unveiling his 1939 Cadillac Custom Madam X Coupe — a car that never saw daylight outside of the sketch books of GM designer Art Ross.
Ross reimagined the 1935 Cadillac 60 Special Sedan as a lower, leaner coupe with a removable hard top. This coupe was to join the “Madame X” (Named for the silent 1920 film of the same name, starring Pauline Frederick) line of custom sedans built by Harley Earl’s Art and Colour Studio for special clients, but Cadillac never built Ross’ two-door design. Foose chose the design as inspiration for his latest project, Madam X, bringing the 80-year-old design to life….
