Shockwave Foose Design
Shockwave began as a build project at Hot Rods by Boyd and was based on Chip’s Hemisfear design. It is essentially the roadster version of the Hemisfear coupe. There are differences between the two, Shockwave features a front-end motor, teardrop taillights, a different grille design and is also slightly shorter.
When the vehicle left Boyd’s shop, everything had been completed except the interior and the wiring. Chip was able to take over management of the project and ensure its completion. It was the first custom he worked on in his new shop.
Greg Morell custom-mixed the four-part, candy tangerine paint color dubbed “Tangerscream”. The first award winner out of the newly established Foose Design, Shockwave was recognized as America’s Most Beautiful Roadster in 1999.
