With the addition of the ’70 quarter panels to this ’71 Mustang, the body lines need to be moved to match up.
Fortunately, we don’t need to move them far but the end result will look much better aesthetically.
The green tape on the door is where the new body line will be to match with the addition of the new ’70 quarter panels.
Here we started to flatten out the body line under the rear window near the door. A new line will be added where the green tape is.
This is a better shot angle to show the change. The door is untouched but the rear portion has been flattened. Again, the green tape is where the new body line will be.
The new quarter panel is in place. You can see the new body line is a smooth transition to the new body panel, and the old body line fades away.
