ELDOROD WINS
November 13, 2012

Many long hours were spent working and refining the Eldorod, but it was all more than worth it once this beauty was completed. It had been a long time coming to get this hot rod to its final stage. This ride was based on a 1948 Cadillac Eldorado and was the very first car Chip designed at Hot Rods by Boyd's when he worked there full time as Chief Designer in the 90's. It was also the last car to be produced by Boyd's before it went bankrupt in '98. The new owner, Chris Andrews, got in touch with Chip to make those subtle changes to the vehicle design Chip had always wanted to do, but were never incorporated into the final design. Chip found the original sketch of the vehicle before certain changes were made to it at Boyd's. Chip always wanted the Eldorod to be blue, but it wasn't until this year that he got to see his vision become a reality.

Chip had a great week at the 2012 SEMA Show! The Foose Design booth stood tall in the parking lot outside of South Hall loaded with all the hot new apparel designs. Chip's P-32 was displayed right next to the booth which he took for a spin later in the week. The Overhaulin' set and Chrysler 300 were ready to go upstairs and it was time for the fans to pile in.
