SEMA DAY TWO RECAP
October 31, 2012
This week at SEMA is already going by so fast! After staying up late last night to paint the Chrysler 300 getting overhauled at SEMA this year, Chip got very little sleep but headed back to the convention to meet the many fans and friends who were anxiously waiting at the autograph sessions. He spent an hour at the first session in the WD-40 booth where the 2012 custom Ford F-350 Super Duty work truck is on display. This truck has Foose-inspired custom front and rear wheel flares, side rockers, and front chin spoiler, among other upgrades. This WD-40 Specialist/SEMA Cares Foose F-350 represents the new WD-40 Specialist line of products which help skilled trade professionals get their specific jobs done with ease. After SEMA, this truck will make special appearances on the road for 16 months before it will be auctioned to help fund the SEMA Cares scholarship program. Also on display are the limited edition WD-40 cans that feature some of Chip's classic vehicle designs.
Chip' s next stop was the 3M booth conveniently located right behind WD-40's. Once he got his mic on, Chip did a demonstration in front of many fans and onlookers to show just how great the 3M products work. He used a black sample piece masking off one side to show the before and after contrast, and proceeded to go through the Trizact 5000, 3000 and multiple other 3M products to smooth, shine and finish the top. These products worked really well! Before Chip exited the booth, he made sure to get some more autographs signed and greet his 3M friends at the show.Another autograph session was scheduled in the
afternoon where the WD-40 F-100 SEMA/Cares truck was displayed and then at the Magnaflow booth as well. Fans were lined up a full hour before these sessions to claim their spot. Chip did a brief interview at the Magnaflow booth in front of the Revolver hot rod shown in the picture to the right, Chip did the inital design for the look of this truck and the wheels. He also did the final rendering which you can see a picture of on The Official Chip Foose facebook page. Let's hope his hand gets some good rest tonight from drawing and signing autographs all day because he'll be at it again tomorrow.
