Chip had a great week at the 2012 SEMA Show! The Foose Design booth stood tall in the parking lot outside of South Hall loaded with all the hot new apparel designs.  Chip's P-32 was displayed right next to the booth which he took for a spin later in the week.  The Overhaulin' set and Chrysler 300 were ready to go upstairs and it was time for the fans to pile in.

Chip kicked off the first day as the keynote speaker during breakfast.  He was really looking forward to the afternoon because he was unveiling two rides he had been fixing up for months.  The  WD-40 SEMA/Cares Ford F-100 truck was the first unveiled.  WD-40 and Chip partnered up again but this time to commemorate the 60th anniversary of WD-40 Multi-Use Product.  This truck is meant to look similar to the one used to deliver the first case of the product in the early 50's when the company was called Rocket Chemical Company.  The second vehicle that Chip actually got to physically uncover in front of the many onlookers was the classy Eldorod.  You only needed to take one glance at this hot rod to know it was something special.  The beautiful Huntington Blue BASF color was stunning, but that was just the beginning of the many gorgeous aspects this car contains.  The front bumper was redesigned with a new grill and grill insert and the smooth tan leather interior with the curved roof line is what many would call beautiful "eye candy".  Everything was done to perfection. This hot rod is near and dear to Chip since it was the first ride he designed at Hot Rods by Boyd's in the 90's.   Chip became emotional before unveiling this hot rod.  There were many people involved who helped out with this build and he was truly thankful to everyone.  GM picked out this car in the large group at SEMA as the Best of the 2012 SEMA show!  This award was truly an honor with the many other cars in the running.  Chip was awarded this trophy toward the end of the week and proudly placed it on the center console of the displayed Eldorod for everyone to see.

Much of Chip's days were spent signing autographs, drawing cars on various paraphenalia and taking pictures.  He was a pretty popular man to say the least.  People brought their ipads, t-shirts, posters, hats, etc. to get the Chip Foose signature mark.  Between all of the autograph sessions, Chip attended some private events with his sponsors, did a demonstration for 3M and many interviews for the press.  Additionally, cameras were following him around the show to get clips that would be used on the episode of Overhaulin' being shot during SEMA.  The Velocity crew threw a party at the Overhaulin' set with Chip, the A-team and many other friends and sponsors.  The team was  hard at work on the Chrysler 300 getting it prepped to be painted that night, so a little fun time was a nice diversion for an hour or two.

As progress continued on the Chrysler 300, SEMA fans were able to see a couple other rides that Chip was involved in designing.  At the Magnaflow booth, you couldn't miss the red hot Revolver. Chip did the inital design for the look of this truck and the wheels.  He also did the final rendering which you can check out on The Official Chip Foose facebook page. The 2012 custom Ford F-350 Super Duty work truck was on display at the WD-40 booth.  This truck has Foose-inspired custom front and rear wheel flares, side rockers, and front chin spoiler, among other upgrades.  This WD-40 Specialist/SEMA Cares Foose F-350 represents the new WD-40 Specialist line of products which help skilled trade professionals get their specific jobs done with ease. The booth also displayed the limited edition WD-40 cans that feature some of Chip's classic vehicle designs.  These collectible cans are still available for purchase at your local automotive shop.

As SEMA came to a close, the excitement only built as one lucky SEMA member would be walking away with a newly overhauled Chrysler 300.  The crowd in front of the set was overwhelmingly large that evening since the winner was required to be present at the time they announced the name. Everyone was anxiously waiting to hear their name called and the lucky winner this year was....... Rick Walker of Texas!  Congratulations and we hope you enjoy your new ride.  Be sure to keep a look out for the airing of this Overhaulin' episode in the next few weeks.
