UNDER THE HOOD

CHEVY CRUZE PROJECT FOR THE TORONTO AUTO SHOW - PT.3
February 7, 2012

I'm happy to say we just put the Foose Cruze on the transporter and it's headed for Toronto.  It seems crazy, but we were able to turn this stock 2012 Chevy Cruze into a unique Foose custom in just over one month.

We were looking to acheive an edgier, urban vibe on this vehicle, which I believe we captured most in our paint scheme.  It features a two-tone black and green layout separated by an orange accent line.  For the bottom color, we used Hemisfear Lime Pearl waterborne paint from our line of BASF Foose Signature Colors.  We also included silver SS tribute stripes, subtly outlined in purple and green pinstripe, on the trunk and deck lid.  As always, it was a pleasure to work with Mitch Lanzini of Lanzini Bodyworks, who assisted us in prepping and painting the vehicle.  We also brought in master line puller Dennis Ricklefs for the pinstriping.

We used Eibach lowering springs to bring the vehicle down about an inch and a half.  I designed a set of custom one-off 5-spoke 19" wheels, which were machined by MHT Luxury Alloys, and wrapped them in Pirelli PZero Tires.  Long time sponsor Magnaflow handled the install of a dual cat-back stainless steel exhaust.  We also installed a 3DCarbon body kit to incorporate some more styling cues.  We used their rear spoiler, front air dam, rear fascia and side rocker panels.  Lastly, we replaced all the seating surfaces with a two-tone custom black and charcoal grey interior by Stitchcorp.  An orange french stitching accent outlines the seats and embroidered into the headrests is the Foose logo and signature 3 palms.

It was great working with the GM Dealers Association of Toronto, they provided the vehicle and let us make all the customizations we wanted to.  They'll debut the vehicle in the Chevrolet booth at the 2012 Canadian International Auto Show, which runs from February 17 -26, 2012.  I'll be in attendance February 26 & 27, to give away the car and meet the lucky winner.

Don't forget that you can actually win this vehicle!  Simply visit one of the 19 Toronto Area Chevrolet Dealers between January 17th, 2012 and February 23rd, 2012, make a donation to SickKids Foundation and fill out a ballot for your chance to win. You can also enter to win the Foose Cruze at the 2012 Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto by visiting the Foose Cruze Kiosk located in the Chevrolet booth.  The SickKids Foundation benefits the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto and we are proud that they are associated with this program.

Be sure to check out our Facebook Foose Cruze Photo Album, which includes a number of build photos and finished photography.  Looking forward to making the trip to Toronto and meeting the lucky winner!
