I hope you were able to catch the premiere of Overhaulin' on the Velocity network last night.  It was great to be back on the air after a 5 year hiatus from the show.
You'll notice quite a few returning members of the A Team, along with co-host Chris Jacobs.  We've also made some new editions, with Jessi Combs coming on as both co-host and builder.  We're also keeping it all in the family this time around with the television debut of my son Brock Foose.
You also probably noticed a few changes to the structure of the show.  This season were not spending quite as much time pranking, but rather we're choosing to focus on the deserving owners of the vehicles.  For our premiere episode, we couldn't have found a more qualified candidate than Carlos.  He was selling his 1965 Chevy Impala to helped support his ever growing young family.  This former Marine and Iraqi war veteran has truly sacrificed for both his country and home.  When his beloved "Marilyn" was unveiled to him, I couldn't help but get a little emotional myself!
We're also taking a little more time with the rides this time around, sometimes up to 3 weeks on a single project.  This helps us avoid the consecutive all-nighters and take a little more time on the builds.  It also let's me get some sleep at night.
I hope you liked the modifications we made to Carlos' ride.  We were able to install a brand new Edelbrock Chevy Small Block 350 Crate motor.  I spent time designing one-off custom wheels that we cut, polished and pinstriped (19”s in the front and 20”s in the back).  The chassis was retrofitted with Hotchkis suspension component parts and Classic Industries provided a number of reproduction parts, most notably a new front grille.  Bill Dunn upgraded his brand new interior to a vibrant burgundy red, modeled after the stock SS interior, including a center console and bucket seats.  Completing the build was a new top-to-bottom bright silver blend to a darker charcoal paint scheme accented with subtle red stripes.
If you haven't checked out our newly refreshed Overhaulin page, please take a visit.  Each week, immediately after the new episode airs, it will be updated with information on the ride, photo galleries and specs.
It's good to be back and I look forward to a brand new season of overhauling rides for worthy people like Carlos.  Be sure to tune in again next week on Velocity, Tuesday nights 9/8c, as we take on a "special" pickup.
