What a fantastic opening day at the 2012 SEMA show in Las Vegas! Chip definitely kept busy walking all around the convention center. He was the keynote speaker at the SEMA breakfast and then he unveiled the WD-40 SEMA/Cares F-100 truck as well as the beautiful Eldorod. After stopping by the Pirelli booth for an autograph session, he finished the day at the Overhaulin' set with the A-team and many of his good friends and sponsors.
Chip gave the keynote speech at the new products awards breakfast early in the morning.  By noon he was in the Grand Lobby of the Central Hall unveiling the WD-40 SEMA/Cares Ford F-100 truck.  WD-40 and Chip partnered up again but this time to commemorate the 60th anniversary of WD-40 Multi-Use Product.  This truck is meant to look similar to the one used to deliver the first case of the product in the early 50's when the company was called Rocket Chemical Company.  Go to https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.426385330730867.88636.192487664120636&type=1 to check out more detailed pictures of specific features like the one off custom Foose wheels, the vintage decal stickers and the WD-40 shield cut out on the rims.
The second vehicle unveiled today was the beautiful BASF Huntington Blue Eldorod.  This hot rod is near and dear to Chip since it was the first ride he designed at Hot Rods by Boyd's in the 90's.  There were a few details that were never finished, so when the new owner contacted Chip to complete his vision, he was grateful for the opportunity!  Chip became emotional before unveiling this hot rod.  There were many people involved who helped out with this build and he was truly thankful to everyone.
On the way to the next event, there were cameras following Chips every move.  Since an episode of Overhaulin' is being filmed at SEMA this year, they will have some film cuts of Chip during the convention meeting and greeting his many fans.  When Chip arrived at the Pirelli booth 30 minutes early for the autograph session, there was already a long line formed!  This is the first of many autograph sessions throughout the week.
As the day came to a close, Chip attended the Velocity party at the Overhaulin' set with the A-team and many other friends and sponsors.  The team was already hard a work on the Chrysler 300 getting it prepped to be painted tonight.  Make sure to check back later in the week for more updated pictures.
Don't forget to come by the Foose Design booth #63236.  We are not in our usual location, so you will want to find us outside in front of the South Hall closer to Paradise Rd.  We have new apparel designs that you will want to get your hands on!
We'll be back tomorrow for a recap of Wednesday's schedule.
