HOT ROD BUILDER FOOSE DESIGNS SPECIAL CAR FOR KALITTA

Las Vegas, pre-race: Mac Tools, a worldwide leader in the hand tools industry and primary backer of the vibrant red Mac Tools NHRA Top Fuel dragster driven by Doug Kalitta, and custom hot rod builder Chip Foose announced a special one-event paint scheme to decorate the 7,000-horsepower, nitro-powered dragster at the NHRA SummitRacing.com Nationals.

In the past, Mac Tools has introduced NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series fans to a wide array of celebrities via partnerships with the television stars of West Coast Customs, Jesse James, the host and star of the Discovery Channel’s Monster Garage, platinum-selling recording artist Kid Rock, and rock 'n’ roll icons Kiss. Now, Mac Tools adds Foose, the host and star of The Learning Channel’s Overhaulin’, to an already impressive list of star-powered marketing partners.

“ We’re honored to have Chip Foose join us and Mac Tools on the race car in Las Vegas,” Kalitta said. “I watch Overhaulin’. It’s a great show. I’m sure the car will be a big hit with race fans.

“ Last year, we ran special paint schemes in Gainesville and Sonoma and we won both events, so we’re hoping for the same results in Las Vegas.”

Later this month, Mac Tools and Foose will introduce a special line of tools and accessories, including toolboxes, fender covers, and creepers.

A special diecast of the Foose/Mac Tools dragster will be made available later this year by RC2. Foose is scheduled to attend the NHRA event this weekend in Las Vegas.
